A Floss-inating Day!

Yesterday, we had a fun-filled 3s in-class field trip to the "dentist's office" to learn all about teeth, cavities, and good brushing and flossing! Our lovely guests from Evergreen Pediatric Dentistry were wonderful, and the kids had so much fun!

To get our energy flowing, we started off with some music in motion with a tooth brushing rap, complete with turns and claps!

🎵"Go waaaa-yy back!"🎵

Then we talked about what foods stick to your teeth and cause cavities. The kids were great at identifying all the things that were healthy and bad for teeth: Fruits and vegetables slipped right off, but the sweets and soda stuck like a magnet!

Healthy foods slid right off this magnet board into the basket. But guess what stuck?😜

Next, we got a little practice brushing and flossing. To demonstrate how flossing works, our student volunteers pretended to be teeth, and floss went between them to remove the food (ball) stuck between them.

Dinosaurs need clean teeth too!

In case any kids were afraid of the tooth polisher, they got to feel it with their hands to know that there is nothing to fear!

It won't hurt at all, it may just tickle:)!

And of course, we all got to take home some tools to keep our teeth healthy and clean! What a great day!

Don't forget to brush twice a day and floss at least once!
